A spontaneous trip…

a spontaneous trip

I have a tendency to be an over thinker when it comes to just about everything. It’s not one of my better attributes most of the time considering it normally is just a nice way of saying I worry too much. I’m trying to break out of that bad habit and replace it with a little more spontaneity, even if that means taking a mid-week break to a new city like New Orleans!

Have you ever been? I’ve always wanted to go and seeing as how I only live 5 hours away now, there’s really no excuse. I think I’m most excited to see the historical architecture than anything else, but I’d really love to hear your suggestions on places to see! We’ll just be there for a quick 24 hour stint and making good use of my Hotel Tonight addiction, but anything I can squeeze in I will. Be sure to follow along on Instagram!

I love love love New Orleans. Great choice to GO! have so much fun! Don’t forget to grab beignets in the French Quarter at Cafe du Monde (duh!), get awesome sandwiches at Butcher and make it for late night to Fauberg Marigny – had lots of fun dancing in the streets there! Can’t wait to see and hear more!

When my husband and I first started dating he had to go to NOLA for work. I went to visit him there and we loved it so much we got married there two years later (keep in mind we live in pittsburgh). The photo you posted reminds me why we made that decision, our photos were fantastic and fun. Re: food. Cafe du monde is amazing but can be very crowded. There is a small park, Musical Legends Park, in the middle of Bourbon street that has beignets (and live music). We had our reception at Galatoire’s. And the fried green tomato at K Paul’s Kitchen is to die for. The art and antiques on Royal Street are fantastic. Have a great time!

That’s so awesome! I went by K Paul’s after I read your comment, but I didn’t realize they were only open for dinner and we were about to start driving home. Next time though for sure!
