For those of you in or near Houston, I’ll be speaking at Creative Mornings Houston this Friday, November 13th! I’m kind of pinching myself seeing as how CMHou is at the top of my cool people list!
The talk will be held in Tout Suite’s studio which is right across the hall from ours, so you’ll be able to take a peak at the #sugarandclothstudio if you haven’t been able to yet! I’ll be talking about the global topic of “Work”, and this quote is definitely on my list.
Tickets are free and you sign up right here, but be quick because seating is limited! Hopefully I’ll see you Friday morning!

It’s been an eventful few weeks around here, and having the second round of sold out workshops with Laura Hooper Calligraphy over the weekend made for a pretty break in our long string of construction work from building out the new studio. Unfortunately we weren’t able to get things finished enough to have the class in the new Sugar & Cloth studio, but the lovely ladies that own the bakery and cafe below our new space also have a studio for events that they kindly let us use (thank goodness!!!), on the other side of the building and it turned out just as nice!
We had the same setup for the morning and afternoon class, and I loved every detail, but especially the florals from Jennifer Laura Design that really pulled the urban space together…
Believe it or not, I actually don’t survive on cookies and cake alone. For my behind the scenes meals I do tend to try and include more than one food group and protein here and there. I know, I know, I’m shocked too. One thing I don’t like to compromise on though, is flavor and a token cute factor, and Pondicheri on West Ave has plenty of both! I mean, how amazing are these flowing, patterned shears dividing the juice bar and dining area? I’m in love!
For those of you that just so happen to be in this for the sugar part of Sugar & Cloth, don’t worry, this mountain of pastries should tide you over…
