I hope you guys are up for another flower project, because we just co-hosted a fun event in Dallas over the weekend for Palm Breeze and My Domaine and I wanted to share the tropical DIY floral bar cart swag we taught the attendants! They’re super quick and easy to make, but will seriously add some punch to your Summer entertaining decor. Plus let’s be honest, I’m always looking for a good reason to share photos of flowers.
We also got to host alongside the super lovely Livvy Land at The Joule in the prettiest setup! If you follow along on our Snapchat then you got see alllll of the fun details, but there’s plenty go around here, too…
rustic wire (optional for a more finished look)
split palm leaves
parlor palm leaves
your choice of blooms- I used ranunculus and pinchusion proteas
First, layer the two palm leaves how you’d like (which you may have to strip some of the parlor palm leaves to make them the same length as the large palms), and use the cloth wire to wire them together.
Now start placing your blooms by wiring them on in layers. For instance, wire two or three higher than the others first, then add two or three more, and so on.
Once you have a complete swag, tightly loop a piece of rustic wire around the stem leaving extra length on both ends so that you can wrap the excess around the handle of the your bar cart. You can also make a loop with the excess to hang the swag from an adhesive hook, front door, bar center, etc!
As for the event party details, Gro Designs in Dallas did the flower installations and pretty photo-opps, which were so perfect! We also had our right hand gal Meredith from Cake & Confetti there to help as an extra set of DIY hands during the class.
I’m also now convinced that we need to do more traveling workshops, what do you ya’ll think?! That and adding flowers, sunshine, and cocktails to it never hurts either, am I right?!
