If any of you knew about the secret gem that is Grenada before now and didn’t tell me, then you’re in trouble! We loved our couple-cation with Brittni from Paper & Stitch and her husband Jeff, and now I’m back to spill allll of the details of our trip to Grenada.

Admittedly getting there is the trickiest part, as St. George’s airport is teeny tiny, but it’s still very do-able. We ended up flying American Airlines, but Jetblue and Delta also have great flight times too. Once you’re there, you’ll be smooth sailing!

Another little known fact about Grenada is that it’s just far enough South that it’s still a pretty safe bet to visit during hurricane season because the storms generally form above it. We didn’t have much rain at all during the day unless it was a light shower that passed pretty quickly, and we visited in September.

It’s not the busiest place of all time, so be prepared to really relax. There’s plenty of hiking, sightseeing, rum and jam tasting, snorkeling, and scuba-diving to be had, but overall it’s a much more laid back caribbean destination than others we’ve been to. My ideal vacation is one where I don’t have to make many decisions, ha! We did do a half day Taste of Grenada tour and wanted to do the Pilot your Own Power Boat Tour. We mostly stay beach or poolside, and the resort had plenty of games, competitions, and entertainment scheduled throughout the day.

We stayed at Sandals LaSource Grenada, and it. was. amazing. We’ve been to many a hotels and resorts, and it was genuinely one of the coolest we’ve ever stayed in. If you’ve any weird misconceptions of the style of Sandals, this resort will cure that! Our all marble bathroom and infinity pool on our fifth floor balcony basically blew my mind.

It’s also an all-inclusive that has seriously delicious food. Considering “sugar” is in the name, you know I’m into that! Some of the rooms had swim up pool suites (see below) where you have your own pool that leads to your door. We hit up the creperie once or twelve times.

Brittni and Jeff got a private pool room (see above!) on the other side of the resort, so we got a put good taste of both rooms. If you can swing it, you should absolutely get a room with a private pool! It was really fun to sit in and watch TV at night, or chat over cocktails in the hot tub.

The water was a far different experience than our usual Bahamas or Mexico trips as it’s not super shallow, but it was still fun to swim in close to shore. Hence why we did a lot of the pool. That and it had a swim up bar which Jared can’t resist, ha!

We did book couple’s spa treatments while we were there, but made the mistake of not making them early on in the trip, because I got seriously sunburnt! Doesn’t exactly make for the best massage when you have to explain all of the 120 places where they can’t touch, haha.
