You may remember Caitlin from the bedroom makeover we worked on in the Fall, and she’s officially back in Sugar & Cloth action with this garden flower bridal shower that I got to host for her last weekend! I’ve only had an official sister for approximately 40 days and 13 hours, but who’s counting?! I’m not freakishly excited that my life-long dream of having a sister came true by marrying Jared or anything (see photo below).
But since we’re not here to talk about why I’m insane, let’s talk about flowers and pretty DIY things instead. I kept most things pretty simple for this party (i.e. no major installations), but it was definitely a less is more setting!
I got to work with my favorites at Blush & Vine for the florals again, and they nailed it per usual. Rather than sourcing and buying the geometric gold lanterns for one occasion, we were able to use theirs and decorate them in the studio the morning of.
I tied in a small DIY touch with the floating flower displays from last week and the blush pink cactus wall art above the food table that I painted for the party. Blush & Vine attached a few blooms with pins through the canvas to add florals and texture to it, too. I love how it turned out!
Each setting had a sprig of wildflowers as an accent next to the place cards, and a monogrammed cosmetic bag from Kate Aspen with Lindt chocolates, a gold compact, and feather bottle opener. I couldn’t help myself, and decided to add colorful pom poms to them at the last second, ha!
I also got lucky and snagged a few geometric place card holders from World Market that matched the table centerpieces!
For cake, I bought a simple vanilla bean cake from Tout Suite and added the gold cactus and flowers to it myself. You can’t go wrong with vanilla cake and a mimosa bar, you know what I mean?!
Instead of regular shower games, we went the token Smith family route and played Pictionary on dry erase boards but all with wedding related themes, which was super fun! We’re big game night fans, and it was the perfect choice. I also added a touch of Texas trashy by making a wedding ring toss game that was a play off of beer pong, but decided to leave that out of the photos, haha!
Happy bridal shower Cait, so excited to be your sister and can’t wait for the wedding!
