DIY Distressed Wooden Shelves

DIY distressed wood shelves

I think we can all agree on our mutual obsession with distressed wood these days. Unfortunately, buying reclaimed wood has about as much competition as the last cupcake at at a kid’s party (or mine..), and the dollar signs to go with it. So, I made my own DIY Distressed Wooden Shelves, and you almost can’t tell the difference!

Simple to make with just a few supplies, you can find my full tutorial on DIY distressed wooden shelves, here, for the Ikea blog.

I also like the unique way of using the vessels and vases, who will steal them first? :)

  8. Love it Ash. And look at all those cool little vases and vessels you have. I might have to come over and steal some of them.

  9. This is just what I’ve been looking for!!! Okay, I do have a question: The brackets are only 11″ deep, but the shelf is 12″ deep, so did you have to cut the wood or does it end up fitting perfectly somehow?

  10. Seriously, Ashely, is there something you can’t do? :) I LOVE this project: you are so right, reclaimed wood being so “in” right now, the prices can be quite overwhelming. Thank you so much for this tutorial, I’m planning to use it on my nightstand!
    Have a lovely day!
