Are you guys tired of my macaron projects yet? Come on, give it to me straight, I can take it! Worst case scenario I just emotional eat all of my DIY ice cream cone macarons on my own (see what I did there? you almost didn’t even realize I slipped another macaron DIY in on ya!).

No but seriously, these are great because you can trick small children into eating half the amount of sugar and they’re still getting ice cream and cookies, plus they’re super simple to make unlike the somewhat tricky painted waffles and fruit macarons. Now let’s hop to it (that’s my Easter weekend nod for you)…

This macaron DIY is much more laid back and fun. You can pretty much use whatever colors you’d like as far as macarons go, but I chose mint green with black edible marker dots to look like “mint chocolate chip”, yellow and pink with bright yellow and pink shaded sides with edible marker, and plain vanilla with sprinkles using various marker colors.

For the cone, roll out light brown fondant on your working surface, and cut a triangle shape for each of your macarons so serve as the cone. Let the shape harden a bit by leaving it exposed to the open air, then draw little criss cross lines to look like the waffle cone shapes.

Now all you have to do is slip the fondant cones in between the top and bottom of your macarons and you’re all set!

Now these are totally do-able without an artistic hand, so I want to see some of you making these, okay?! Be sure to tag #mysugarandcloth so we can keep up with all of your awesomeness, and you can find even more macaron projects right here!

Hope you all have an awesome weekend and happy Easter, and I’ll see you Monday!
