Nothing says summer like pretty pink flamingos, so we’ve created this super simple DIY No-Sew Flamingo Lumbar Pillow to fill the void. Read it here and be creative!
Hi Guys! It’s Erin from Francois et Moi here today with a fun and summery lumbar pillow project you can whip up in just an afternoon!
I love keeping my space fresh and current with throw pillows from season to season. They’re inexpensive and simple to switch out as one season fades into the next.
And now that summer is in high gear, I’ve totally got flamingos on the brain.
And I know Ashley does too considering she also created a DIY Flamingo Ring Toss Game and Flamingo macarons.
So this is why we now have a tutorial for an easy flamingo lumbar pillow!
The best part is that a sewing machine isn’t required. It’s a no-sew project like our no-sew handkerchief, no-sew apron, and a no-sew infinity scarf.
To me, nothing says summer like a pretty pink flamingo, so I’ve created this super simple DIY No-Sew Flamingo Lumbar Pillow to fill the void!

How To Make A DIY No-Sew Flamingo Lumbar Pillow
1 — Print 3 copies of the flamingo PDF on iron transfer paper, then carefully cut out each of the 3 flamingos so there’s only a 1/8” border around the flamingo.
2 — Place the flamingos in a row equally spaced and face down on the backside of the pillow. (The side without the pleating.)
Set your iron to the highest setting without steam. Iron the flamingos for 60 seconds each giving special attention to corners and edges.
3 — Let the flamingos cool completely, and carefully peel off the paper backing on each of them.
Stuff the cover with a pillow form and lounge away!
The pillow cover’s lightweight, linen-esque fabric makes it the perfect summer backdrop to the flamingo motifs!
How To Take Care Of Your Throw Pillow
And it’s that easy!
The end result is a pretty and feminine lumbar pillow that satisfies the summer flamingo craving in all of us.
And don’t worry, the pillow cover is washable in cold water so you can actually use it.
Just make sure to turn it inside out before popping it into your washing machine!
