Hi Storm! Great summary of the Super Donuts history. Yes, we did mention right in the introduction that “while there aren’t any added vitamins or minerals, the white sugar has been replaced with your choice of light agave or honey”. It’s called a copycat since it is suppose to taste like the Super Donut but this is not the original recipe.

To quote from the Superbakery website: “Fortified with Minerals, Vitamins and Protein, these two unique items were approved by the USDA at the time as grain/fruit creditable components.”

So without any added protein, vitamins or minerals, this recipe is NOT a “Super Donut” copycat. It’s just a plain old donut.
