Dressing (cleaning, rather) up the studio is much like getting all dolled up for a Saturday night out: it rarely happens and it also makes me want to take a thousand pictures and show everyone. Hence the thousand photos in this recap of our Houston calligraphy workshop we held in the studio with Laura Hooper calligraphy this past weekend. I think I share enough photos of the not-so-cute everyday version (case in point here), so I feel justified in bragging about the very brief cleanliness we have every now and then.
Slightly off topic, but notable nonetheless, in case you’ve ever wondered what I do during the classes that someone else is teaching, it looks a little something like this…
Sort of. Actually I just got new sunglasses from Gigi Barcelona and so I forced our intern to wear them indoors with me. I think it went well, until we were encouraged to go sit in the coffee shop downstairs as to not interrupt the class. I tell myself that was due to my extreme coolness making it hard for people to concentrate, or something like that…
I don’t always get to snag a goodie bag if there aren’t extras leftover, but I’m super pumped to have saved one of the awesome flamingo totes they had printed! Naturally we filled them with another flamingo (print) from LH calligraphy, Pipers Tea, bling brushes from Baublerella, and Meri Meri temporary tattoos.
To keep everyone sugared up we had a whole slew of ombre prettiness made by Dolce Designs, that also included “#yay” cookies, which I think pretty much sums that up.
The gorgeous florals were arranged by Blush & Vine (which I’m obsessed with their name for some reason), and the peonies in them did not disappoint. Not that it’s actually possible for peonies to disappoint, but we loved them anyway.
And this is a great example of someone with extreme patience and attention span. I’ve never actually sat through the calligraphy class to learn along with them, but maybe someday! For now I still rely on my chicken scratch cursive and bubbly letter “A’s” to get me by.
Thanks to everywhere who came out, it’s always so fun to meet you!
This workshop looks so incredible and beautiful!
