Not that having hosted only two workshops in my own studio makes me a seasoned veteran now or anything, but I have to say that flowers make for the prettiest photos hands down, so I’m super excited to share the Houston floral workshop recap with you! Yes, yes I realize it’s taken me way longer than I thought considering the class was a few weeks ago, but hey, life happens!

First things first, thanks so much for everyone that came to the class! I could seriously kiss all of you for showing up because it’s pretty terrifying putting yourself on the line to make a class happen when you never know if people will even care to come. Secondly, do flowers not making everything one hundred times prettier or what?! Fifty Flowers helped us out with all of the florals so that we could get all of the fan favorites even though Houston weather doesn’t really permit them, and Maria of Maxit Flower Design took it from there when it came to teaching the arrangements with tips and tricks along the way…

The studio light was perfect for making the flowers the focus of the room, and I’m obsessed with all of the different floral buckets that we got from Save On Crafts, especially the ones with scalloped edges.

We made this floral cocktail recipe with edible flowers for the class, and it was a huge hit. We even used them for the mini styling sessions along with lots of other pretties for each of the ladies to choose from to style their professional images of their arrangements.

Pondicheri & Indika were awesome enough to provide the bites for the workshop with goat cheese potato cakes, chicken arugula and mango chutney skewers, and the BEST cardamom cookies dipped in chocolate. Of course, we always have to have macarons around here, too. The calligraphy place cards were written by Kristara and the place card holders are an old DIY of mine.the Sugar & Cloth floral workshop | sugarandcloth.com the Sugar & Cloth floral workshop | sugarandcloth.com the Sugar & Cloth floral workshop | sugarandcloth.com the Sugar & Cloth floral workshop | sugarandcloth.comthe Sugar & Cloth floral workshop | sugarandcloth.com

And did I mention we had the most killer goodie bags ever? We ordered these custom printed totes from Zazzle, and they were filled with a whole slew of pretty things from awesome makers and designers from all over. Of course we couldn’t let them leave without a token Sugar & Cloth DIY, so we made everyone a custom floral apron with their names stamped on them and one of our “Very Fancy” magnetic cards from Build-A-Sign.
