Sharing our One Room Challenge final reveal of our townhouse master suite makeover that we overhauled in 6-weeks while pregnant!
Shall we all take a moment of silence for surviving a 6-week complete overhaul of our master bedroom and bathroom while dealing with me being super pregnant?
Jared is currently taking several hours of silence to commemorate the occasion!
Despite some ups, downs, and our apparently very poor measuring skills, we’re super excited to share our One Room Challenge final reveal of our townhouse master suite makeover!
It looks insanely different than our original before photos from Week 1.
And we don’t miss the disgusting old carpet and repurposed Ikea furniture one bit.
Before we really dive into this, please accept our apologies in advance for the overload of photos.
We just wanted to make sure you got to see every nook and cranny!
Plus, we technically renovated two rooms if you count the bathroom and bedroom as separate spaces.
Like we mentioned last week, we do have a quick video glimpse of the space for you also.
We originally intended for it to be a fully guided walkthrough of the space in “Extreme Nesting: The Renovation Edition” fashion.
But for sanity’s sake, we made it much more condensed.
We love you guys, but some things just aren’t worth pre-term labor from the extra stress, you know?
One Room Challenge Final Reveal: Our Master Bedroom Makeover
In case you’re new to following along on the ORC challenge, we put together a few before and after comparisons throughout the reveal for quick reference.
Trust us though. The whole before situation was horrendous enough to take a gander through to fully appreciate the new space.
We already know what you’re thinking — what took this girl so long to upgrade this joint?!
We’re still asking ourselves the same question. We basically live in a procrastinator’s paradise.
By far replacing the carpet with the Pergo Variable Width Autumn Hickory flooring from Lowe’s and Very Square baseboards from Metrie made the biggest difference when it came to the bedroom.
We also repainted the walls with Sherwin Williams Emerald Interior Extra White wall paint to match the rest of the rooms we’ve been renovating.
We love how warm and inviting it feels with the multicolor rug.
To mix it up a bit, we also chose this Ferm Living mint wallpaper with gold flecks to break up all of the white walls while trying not to make the space feel darker.
Picking Out Furniture Pieces for Our Master Bedroom
We love the textured layered look of the gold dot and woven Pom Pom at Home pillows with the touch of gold velvet pillows in front of the wallpaper.
Basically every piece of furniture in the bedroom is from Overstock with the addition of the white dressers that double as side tables from Article.
We love the unconventional size of using dressers for nightstands!
The height of our new platform bed is so much better than the old modern one that was really low to the ground.
Ironically, we had to do some serious convincing to make Jared willing to switch out our old fan for a modern white one from Craftmade.
But now that it’s in… basically every photo and 13981294 prettier, we clearly won that battle.
Bedroom Media Area
Mounting the TV above the new console and adding a velvet pink and gold accent chair was just what this wall needed for a pick me up.
The navy hamper is also a new favorite of ours!
Plus, it holds double the amount of laundry than our old one, so it’s obviously meant for me.
Our obsession with gold accents reallllly shines through in this space (in case you haven’t caught on to that theme yet).
And the Lamps Plus cinch lamps clearly take the crown when it comes to that.
Our Custom Wall Art
When it came to wall art, we had a really hard time deciding what to go with!
We loved the idea of tying in our token blush pink obsession but also wanted to keep things simple and bright.
We ended up buying a canvas from the local craft store and painting it ourselves at the last minute.
The scale of the art really balances the rest of the furniture without being too busy.
It’s very similar to our DIY Watercolor Wall Art piece.
I can’t tell you how excited I am to have a floor mirror that’s pretty enough to be a permanent decorative piece.
Dancing around Jared while second guessing my outfit choice in a cramped closet mirror was not ideal. It’s the little things!
Speaking of little, this real marble iPhone dock was my little luxury gift to myself to keep on my side table/dresser.
One Room Challenge Final Reveal: Our Master Bathroom Makeover
Now for moving on to the bathroom details!
The first big change we made was removing the tiny pocket door and replacing them with Metrie True Craft double doors and Emtek gold hardware to brighten the space and make it feel less sectioned off.
We also completely gutted the original tiling, shower wall, and old shower hardware. Then, replaced it with marble hexagon floor tiles and white subway tile.
After some serious back and forth contemplating, we landed on white grout instead of the initial dark grout idea from the design plan.
By far our favorite piece in the bathroom (besides all of the gold and the freestanding tub!) is this marble topped Overstock bathroom vanity. It’s just perfect!
It originally had silver handles and we replaced them with all gold to match the gold faucets from The Mine.
Admittedly, we’re still adjusting to using the two gold round mirrors instead of the large mirror across the back wall from before.
Worth it for the overall design though!
Knocking out the dividing wall between the toilet and the enclosed shower was definitely pricey.
But it makes the space so much more fluid.
Plus, it shows off the freestanding tub from The Mine.
Jared also keeps saying he thinks he’s in a hotel every time he showers with the gold shower system!
We also tell ourselves it has something to do with us picking out pink towels and forcing him to use them.
We listed all of the room sources below for each room for quick reference in case you’re looking for something specific!
We’re also still very serious about sending you the contact info on our new contractor for those of you in Houston that asked from previous posts.
Sharing is caring after compiling a quick list of who NOT to call after reno lessons learned the hard way.
Be sure to check out the previous weekly updates to see the progress along the way from Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, Week 5, and Week 6.
And thank you for following along on our slightly chaotic adventure!
A huge thanks to One Room Challenge for having us and the awesome sponsors for letting us showcase our favorite products.
Be sure to scroll down to see the list of the other blogger sharing their room reveals today as well!

Beautifully done! Thank you for sharing. We have a similar space and I was wondering if the lay out would work for us. Can you share the dimensions of your bath; shower and standing tub area (the area surrounded by the glass)? Mainly the width and possibly the size of the freestanding tub? Thank you very much!
Thank you, Naseem! Unfortunately, we are no longer in this home so we do not have the dimensions to measure. We did link most of the bathroom items. Some of them may have sold out. The freestanding tub is from the Mine by Whirlpool. It’s the 59″ Dewey but we do not know the width. Hope this helps!
Hi! Where is the framed picture from in the bedroom media area? The one of 4 people in the ocean. This is so beautiful!
Hi Ashley! The swimmers in the ocean was an old print from Overstock. XOXO
The source links for the tub, shower hardware etc aren’t working for me-they are linking to A Lowe’s page, but nothing specific. The bathroom is amazing and I would love your accurate sources. Great job on the renovation!!
Hi Rachel! It looks like the source link for the tub and hardware link to a generic page on Lowes since they are both sold out and no longer available. They were part of Lowe’s special feature 3 years ago. Sorry that this wasn’t any help!
You have a great style!! I love this post!!
Thank you, Adele!
Hey Ashely! Great bathroom, you have amazing taste! Quick question– I picked out the purist wall mount faucet for my bathroom and a woman at a kitchen/bathroom design center told me that I should get a wall mount tub filler because that faucet will take forever to fill the tub. Sooo, my question is does it take a long time to fill up the tub? I’ve seen 1 or 2 other people use that faucet for tubs, so I was surprised by her comment. I’d appreciate your feedback :)
I totally second her warning! it takes SOOOOOO long to fill up! when we redid the downstairs bathroom, we made sure to get the purist tub filler instead and it makes a night and day difference!
Beautiful design! Do you by chance remember which valve you got for your Purist wall-mount bath fixture? I love that yours are mounted in a straight line–I can’t figure out how to do it. The one Kohler matches with it puts the handles and faucet in a triangle shape. Grrr.
Love the final reveal! That bathroom is to die for!! I especially love all the gold accents everywhere.
Where is the gold shaving kit from?
Thanks Hetal! The shaving kit was actually a gift from Jared’s brother, so I’m not sure!
Its just wonderful how you renovated your entire home in simple yet wow ways!
The best thing I liked about interior was the interplay of colors, designs and elements
That bathroom! Straight out of my dreams!!!! With a toddler running around in our house it seems like every room is her room, lol!
Way to go, this looks amazing!
Wow. This makeover is so fantastic and clean!! I love it!!! I’m wondering how you made the lighting so much better than in the before?! I feel like my bedroom is so dark and I’m wondering what you suggest to brighten things up!
WOW!!!
What an amazing job! Your husband was right, it looks like your bathroom is right out of a 5 star hotel. I also love the fan in the bedroom, it looks so much better.
A little transparency about what you personally paid for an what was free, as well as what you personally did and what you paid someone to do would have been nice. I’m willing to bet your average reader couldn’t afford to pull off a massive remodel/redecoration like this. How much did this cost?
Oh I LOVE everything you have done – the gold in the bathroom is perfect!!
I also love your pink top :) Could you please tell me where it’s from?
Finally got around to reading this post. I am beyond envious of your bathroom! I just love the tub and shower area. When we get back to the States I already told Greg we need a soaker tub like that one.
And yay for the last month of being pregnant! You make it look good. (^∇^)
Love how the room is light and bright and yet not so feminine that your hubby wouldn’t feel at home there. Great job momma!
Your bedroom and bath look like a fantasy come true! I’m sure y’all were ready for some rest after finishing this in six weeks. Please don’t think I’m being critical, but I used to work in a florist that dealt with a high number of faux plants of all sizes. You can shape those fiddleleaf fig leaves, and they will look real.
Looks Beautiful.
thank you! xoxo
So pretty and fresh! Love the updates to the bathroom also. You did a great job!
thanks so much, Sherry! :)
So I’m scrolling through your ORC and I see you did a bedroom. OK, that’s pretty cool. Then as a rolled down, I see an amazing bathroom as well! Great work! Looks incredible!
makes us so happy you like it! thanks so much Eric! :)
This is absolutely stunning! I love the attention to detail and how it flows so seamlessly- it is perfect. I appreciate you tagging the links as well-I will certainly have to look into those shower fixtures! Wonderful job!
thank you so much, Becca! xo
Amazing! I can’t believe you did all of this while pregnant. You need to get off your feet :). Your room and bathroom are lovely. I adore the idea of the tub within the shower. Just lovely.
thanks so much, Linda! We are so happy we went with the tub in the shower. So glad you like it too! :)
These rooms are stunning! I love the colors you layered together in the bedroom for an excitedly calming retreat. I wish I had this room in my house! Can you tell us more about the kind of paint, paint color, and tips on how to brush or rub on paint you used in your beautiful wall art? I’d like to make something similar for our dining room.
Hi Amy, I just used blush pink acrylic paint and a dry paint brush to brush it onto a blank canvas. xoxo
I love it so much !! It’s very chicane modern but it still looks cost, it is the perfect balance ! All the details make such a huge difference, and golden everything… So pretty !
thank you, Orianne! :)
VERY BEAUTIFUL ALL THE WAY AROUND. THE GOLD ACCENTS ARE SO MUCH FUN. I HAVE TO ASK WHAT IS THE BIG BOX ABOVE THE TOILET?
aww, thank you Pamela! We always love ourselves a touch of gold. And it’s a wall cabinet for storing our towels. xoxo
I LOVE the gold accents. The room looks so much brighter and lovely. I thik this is the one room I have yet to tackle. Thanks for the inspo!
so glad you like, Marisa! thank you! xo
It’s incredible! How nice to have this space done before baby! What is the tiny hex tile in your shower pan?? I love how the two hex patterns work together!
Hi Emily, it’s a local marble sheet tile that we found to make the shower slope easier! xo
Emailing you to get the contractors info! We are in new comstruction home— but im always down to know good resources!
Love the remodel!
(Makes me feel better that your room didn’t always look like that, haha!)
Enjoy, enjoy! It is beautifully done!
Also, I see on Article’s website that the white dresser/bedside table are soft closing drawers.
*Are they also extended pull?*
I have the hardest time finding that on furniture but without it, so much of the drawer space is hidden/wasted.
haha it definitely was a work in progress. So glad you like it, thank you! And yes, the drawers fully extend out if that’s what you mean. xo
Great transformation. The bathroom is stunning!
thanks so much, Jill! xo
The bath shower is really cool! Love the lamps, great shape!
thanks so much, Gwen! :)
SO SO PRETTY!!! That bathroom is a masterpiece, honestly!
so glad you love it as much as we do! Thank you Brittany! :)
So good! The bathroom!!! Ahh! That tub behind glass doors. Wow!
thanks so much, Jessica! xoxo
Oh my goshie – I mean – I couldn’t love this any more, all the photos are gorgeous the rooms turned out beautifully!!

thanks so much for the love, Rebecca! :)
OMG I love it all. How did you convince your husband to let you use gold hardware?!?!
And can you please email me your contractor’s info. I’m starting a bathroom remodel in Jan.
yes for sure! email hello at sugarandcloth.com! xo
Give me ALLLLLL that gold hardware! This is a baller makeover! And while you’re that pregnant?!? You put me to shame. So excited for you guys!
haha thank you so much for the love, Lexy! xo
it turned out SO great!! love the transformation.
thanks so much, Sarah! xoxo
Such pretty, simple decor! (Personally not a fan of the blue basket in the bedroom-but that’s just my preference…) it will be such a wonderful space to love your new little addition! All the best, Mary Wilding/www.mytributejournal.com
thank you Mary! We are soo excited to be done! :)
Looks incredible! You two killed it with this makeover. SO good!
thanks so much, B! xo
WOW!!! I can’t believe you got all this done, and while pregnant! Amazing!! I love the bathroom, seriously drool worthy. The tub in the shower area, sheer genius! Gorgeous!!!
