One Room Challenge Week 5 – Townhouse Master Bathroom Changes

We’re finally making some serious progress now that we’re into our One Room Challenge Week 5! We had a few minor plumbing setbacks, but we officially have a fully tiled bathroom. The vanity from Overstock has arrived, the new Metrie bathroom double door with Emtek hardware is installed, and we’re so, so close to having completed bathroom hardware. I’m loving it all!

The Metrie baseboards are also getting installed this week, then all that’s left is painting, wallpapering the accent wall behind the bed, the glass door install in the bathroom, and the final styling touches on everything.

We currently have allll of the new bedroom furniture sitting in our dining room, and I cannot tell you how happy I am to be able to move that upstairs to see it in the final space soon. Which means next week’s ORC update is going to be VERY fun!! Of course, I don’t want to show you too much before the final reveal.

Here are few peeks at the space so far…

I literally cannot tell you how in love I am with the new vanity. It looks so, so good with the gold Kohler faucets from The Mine. It’s also insanely heavy and well-built, so getting it up three flights of stairs in our townhome took three large men and a pretty funny IG stories snap, haha.

The new double doors have made ALL the difference leading into the bathroom instead of this tiny old pocket door from before. The brushed gold handles match the gold hardware in the bathroom perfectly.

The new tile is all installed and grouted now. We had a few changes from the shaped wall shelves we were initially gunning for because the existing piping behind the shower walls didn’t allow for the proper spacing of them without having to totally move the plumbing around to make room. That was just way too much money for shaped shelves, to I have a new plan for what’s going to be in that space instead!

We also decided to go with white grout throughout instead of black with the subway tile. The black made it feel too busy with the addition of the small marble hexagon tiles that we had to go with for inside the shower in order to make it slope enough towards the shower drain.

It’s crazy how big of a difference new doors can make in a space, right?! I also couldn’t help but style a fun tiling flatlay with the gold hardware because it just looks so pretty together, especially on the new Pergo floors from Lowe’s. It’s really coming together!
