Sharing the last before photo update of our One Room Challenge Week 6 progress to our townhome master suite renovation.
This is it! Our one room challenge week 6 update is our last one before the big reveal next week!
We didn’t include too many photos because we didn’t want to spoil the fun.
W’re also trying to organize the chaos a bit.
Turns out that moving back into your bathroom after shoving ALL of the things from random drawers and cabinets into boxes for three weeks is much more time-consuming to reorganize than one would think.
At least, it’s forcing us to be very put together by the time baby comes!
As for things you have seen since last week’s update, we now have everything fully installed in the bathroom — custom glass door, toilet, sinks, faucets, you name it.
Finally everything is hooked up and working…
The Finishing Touches of a Bedroom Renovation
My mother in law currently wins MIL of The Year for coming BACK to our house again for a full 12 hour shift of renovating this week.
We installed this metallic gold fleck wallpaper that we bought a while back, and I love the subtleness of it.
It may seem like it made the room really dark, but that’s just my horribly timed iPhone photography thanks to daylight savings time.
Still adjusting over here, folks.
Jared is also insanely proud about having replaced the old rickety fan with a new ceiling fan from Craftmade all by himself on a 14 ft ceiling.
Not going lie, we were convinced we should hire out all electrical things, but he did a great job!
We’ll let you know if it falls on us in our sleep any time soon, lol!
Here’s a quick peek at the gold fleck wallpaper, new credenza and wooden bed frame from Overstock, and the white dressers from Article that we’ll be using as side tables.
We are so in love with the way the wallpaper accents the gold Emtek door hardware on the Metrie doors and trim!
Who knew modern doors could make such a big difference?!

Beautiful room! I’m thinking of creating a similar shower/tub area in our new house we’re building. My worry is about how difficult it is to clean all the way around the tub when it is positioned so close to three walls. How do you tackle this?
Hi Brenda! It is definitely a concern and you do have to make sure to always keep it clean so it won’t be so hard to scrub. We always sprayed a daily shower cleaner and it really helped make cleaning days a lot easier!
Hi- curious about the dimensions of the shower/tub enclosure. What do you think the minimum dimensions should be for this combo, if I do a smaller claw foot tub? Thanks for the help!

Hi Robin! The final reveal here (https://sugarandcloth.com/one-room-challenge-final-reveal-master-suite-makeover-video) has more info about all the furniture and fixtures! The freestanding tub from The Mine is 59″ in length. Hope this helps!
Hi Brie! It really depends on how big your smaller claw tub is and if you are able to customize your shower enclosure to fit the tub inside. As long as it fits than the shower enclosure then you should be ok. Our tub was 59″ length. We did it’s totally fine if the tub is smaller than the enclosure!
Also, what kind of challenges did u have with slope of the shower/tub room for the drain?
Where did u have the shower glass made? Expensive?
Hi Lisa! The glass wall for the shower is custom so yes, it was expensive since it was large pieces of glass. This was one thing we were willing to spend on because we wanted an “open” feel.

Hi Megan! You can find the final room reveal and sources on the final reveal here. It’s a Maykke Dewey Freestanding Tub that we purchased from The Mine (which is now a part of Lowe’s).
I wanted to know more about the bathroom. Did you make it into a steam bath? If so what did you use? It’s beautiful.

The tub is actually just in the same “room” with the freestanding shower so technically, it can steam up but not a steam bath. Hope this helps!
