Our Favorite Brands that Help Us Give Back

If you’ve followed along with Sugar & Cloth for a while now, you know I love a good deal! I’ve ordered my fair share of dresses from sketchy websites, and waited that inevitable four months for a suspiciously cheap piece of clothing to arrive on my doorstep. And to be honest, I’m not always disappointed by the quality. But, more and more I’m finding that it’s hard to shop from big retailers without feeling just the tiniest big of guilt about my purchases.

This isn’t to say I’m giving up Amazon Prime or ASOS addictions any time soon, but there’s something awesome about knowing you are shopping from brands that do good and are ethical!

I went ahead and rounded up our favorite brands that help us give back and are stylish.  I think the combo can be hard to find, so I was surprised by how many cute goodies I found!

How precious is this feed bag? Purchasing a bag can help provide children with school lunches! Win, win.

We all wore these sweatshirts at my bachelorette! A cool conversation starter to raise awareness and stop human trafficking.

Sandals from Toms, obviously.

Soma is the best and is working hard to end the global water crisis.

The perfect dress for summer by a brand that donates 5% to employing mothers in Africa!

I need these earrings + I love Tribe Alive’s mission.

You know we have a thing for this cacti cuff. Plus, almost everything else sold by Made!

Cute shoes that provide opportunities for women all over the world!

Glasses for days! It makes me happy that Warby Parker and Toms donate a pair for every pair that is bought. I also love the sunglasses I’m wearing above!

Lots of good accessories on Global Goods Partnersthis bag is super cute.

I wasn’t able to include each brand’s mission and cause (some have more than one!), but I loved reading about who my purchases could care for, employ, or empower. Plus, cute accessories don’t hurt either.. Did we miss any brands that you love?!

I LOVE this article. I’ve been thinking similar things about my purchases (more environmentally friendly, or better work conditions for the people who make them, etc) but didn’t quite know where to start. The ones I’ve found seem to have very basic things that don’t really suit my style… I’m looking sseko’s footwear, though! Thanks for putting this list together.

    • That’s so wonderful to hear, Bernice! Thank you so much :)
