It’s springtime and that can mean only one thing: Peony season has arrived! It never gets old seeing these beautiful flowers flooding our feeds with their big blooms.

I’m guilty of keeping a bouquet (or two) in the house at all times during this period of pure floral bliss. Besides providing Instagram gold, there is another reason to keep your house stocked with peonies: they are edible (you can see the full edible list here)!

Add their petals to salads, soups—or my favorite way to enjoy them—in cocktails! They can instantly jazz up a simple glass of champagne or add a beautiful accent to a delicious mixed drink, like this Spring fling cocktail recipe!

It’s a well-balanced drink with sweet and tart flavors, plus floral undertones that compliment the gin. I prefer to mix with a gin that doesn’t have strong juniper notes that can often mask subtle flavors like the rose water…

St. Germain practically begs to be used this this time of year. If you have never had this elderflower liqueur, drop everything and go get it. Right. Now!

It’s on the sweeter side, so adding some club soda not only adds a fun fizz, but helps keep the drink from being cloying. Are you ready for a spring fling? You may not be able to stop at just one!
