How We Decorated Our Home For Christmas
You guys, it’s here! Christmas, New Year’s, the final quiet at the end of a busy year, and waiting for our baby girl to arrive any day now! My extreme nesting is still in full force, and I’ve made everything as cozy as Jared will allow me to without taking my wallet away, haha.
I’m so excited to be enjoying our newly renovated living room for the holidays, and part of me wants her to come now so we can snuggle through the holiday in this cozy space. We’re prepared to make birthdays extra over the top just in case she happens to be a Christmas baby.
We have the stockings hung, the fireplace is decked out, and we even switched out our old television for THE COOLEST THING EVER. Literally, Jared’s year has been made by getting the new Samsung The Frame TV. If you’re unfamiliar with it and are looking for the coolest thing invented since the toaster oven, it’s a TV that comes with interchangeable bezels in both metal and wood that you can choose from to match your decor, a hidden single Invisible Connection cord system, and Art Mode so that the screen looks like art in the room when you’re not having a family movie night.
Basically I’ve died and gone to interior design heaven, and I will NEVER go back. I can’t, it’s just too beautiful. I mean, who knew taking photos of our tree and decor with the television right in the middle of everything could be so beautiful?! It almost makes me shed a single tear of dramatic happiness, haha!
And as always, Thomas also thinks we’ve done all of this just for him. We should just have his name embroidered onto the Christmas tree bag, because pure magic shines in his eyes every time it lights up…
Even though I switch up our holiday decor a lot (are you like this, too?!) the bottle brush trees just don’t get old for me! I love how classic, yet colorful and fun they are. I also stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this cute Christmas tree cake, I had to have it!
I snagged new stockings with gold foiled names and a matching striped tree skirt from Minted, plus I went a little rogue and decided not to do a full tree of ornaments this year and stuck with a few hanging bows and a simple flocked tree and garland instead.
Not to keep hard selling you on this TV (though you need one!!), but you can switch out photos within the built-in library (which has over 100 pieces of artwork!) or upload your own to display as artwork. I always lean towards colorful (obviously), but I also really love the look of this photo Jared took of the coastline in Oslo, Norway when we were there a few months ago. It looks so cozy and wintery with the flocked decor!
We’ll be checking out until next week after the holiday, but we’re sending you lots of love and hugs for the end of the season! Be sure to follow along on IG stories for behind the scenes of our holiday, too! xoxo Ash & Jared
