Equipment

  • Cold brew coffee maker
  • Fine mesh strainer

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ground coffee coarse ground only
  • 6 cup water filtered is best
  • 6 cup milk
  • 6 cup cereal of your choice & extra for garnishing
  • 1 splash sweetener optional
  • Whipped cream optional

Instructions

To make the cold brew concentrate:

  • Fill the KitchenAid cold brew coffee maker with coarse ground coffee to the fill line of the steeper. Pour in 4 cups of filtered water and let set for 1 minute. Then, add 2 more cups of water.
  • Allow the coffee to steep either in the refrigerator or at room temperature for 12-24 hours. If you prefer a lighter brew, 12 hours will do. If you prefer your coffee dark with a bit more umph, let the coffee steep for 24 hours.
  • Let the coffee steep either in the refrigerator or at room temperature for 12-24 hours. 12 hours if you prefer a lighter brew, and 24 hours for coffee with a bit more umph.
  • Remove the steeper from the cold brew maker and pour coffee over ice in a glass until about 2/3 full. If you do not have a steeper, use a strainer to strain out the grounds.

To make the cereal-infused milk:

  • Pour the milk of your choice into a bowl. Add a generous amount of your chosen cereal. You're basically just making a bowl of cereal as usual.
  • Let the cereal soak in the milk for about 5-30 minutes or until the cereal is nice and soggy. This allows the milk to absorb the flavor of the cereal. How long you soak your cereal is a matter of flavor preference.
  • After soaking, strain the milk to remove the cereal pieces. You can use a fine-mesh strainer, cheesecloth, or a coffee filter.

To make the cereal milk cold brew:

  • In a glass, combine your desired amount of cold brew concentrate with the cereal-infused milk. Stir well. You can adjust the ratio to your taste preference. We filled our glass 2/3 high with cold brew.
  • Optional: Add a splash of sweetener and whipped cream. Top with additional cereal.
