Equipment

Instructions

For the coffee carafes:

  • Make sure the dispenser nozzle is well taped and secured. This is so that you’re not compromising the food-safeness of the carafe when you paint.
  • Tape the bottom plastic piece to be able to use Rub n’ Buff after it’s dry.
  • Once taped, spray two light coats of the spray paint color of your choice over the entire carafe. Let it dry.
  • Remove the painter’s tape from the bottom and use a plastic glove to rub n’ buff the bottom to be gold.
  • When everything is dry, use a thin coat of clear spray shellac that’s food safe to seal the paint job. This will help the carafes hold up against frequent handling.

For the carafe tags and coffee sleeves:

  • Optional: I super quickly designed custom carafe tags and coffee sleeves to print out for the occasion!

Notes

  • Cost of the DIY Hot Chocolate Bar depends on how many guests you are hosting and how many types of hot chocolate drinks you are serving. Our cost estimated is for 3 carafes and 90 guests.
  • We inserted little bowls under the carafes to avoid any excess spillage.
  • You can also add straws, stirrers, sugar cubes, marshmallows and/or other hot chocolate toppings to your buffet bar!
