Microwave safe bowl
Wax paper
- 6 strawberries
- 1 cup chocolate candy melts
- 6 candy corn
- 3 fudge stripe cookie cut into halves
- 1 cup white royal icing optional for eyes
Slice the tops off of the strawberries. Making sure that you cut the "back" flat so that the tail stands upright.
Place candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat it.
Dip the strawberries into the melted chocolate, swirling them around to coat it evenly. Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl before placing them on baking sheet lined with wax paper.
Once the chocolate has slightly set but is still sticky, gently press the halved fudge stripe cookie onto the back of the strawberries to make the feathers. If you have any excess chocolate on the side of the turkeys, use a butter knife to cut it off.
Gently press a candy corn on the tip of the chocolate covered strawberry to make the beaks.
Optional: Using a toothpick, dab 2 dots of royal icing to the front of the strawberries.
Let the turkeys sit at room temperature until the chocolate is completely set and firm. Then, carefully remove the turkeys from the wax paper.
