DIY Floral Pineapple Centerpiece

Every now and then when a good idea presents itself, I sometimes like to take it to a whole new level by trashing it up. Case in point: plastic leis. They get the job done, but they’re not exactly as classy as the real flower version in say… Hawaii.

Another great example of this is the awesome DIY floral pineapple centerpiece that Jen made for our tablescape a few years ago that got crazy popular. I figured hey, if flowers in the pineapple were such a hit, why not glue some cheesy plastic ones to the outside?! You know, just normal people logic.

I will say that it’d make for a great conversation starter addition to a tropical party, plus you can still chop the top off and eat it, too…

This is literally as simple as hot gluing plastic flowers to a pineapple. I tried to make the time investment a little more suitable by buying a plastic pineapple that could be reused, but it turns out that realistic looking plastic pineapples are hard to come by, so fresh it was!

So what do you think?! A little cheesy, a little colorful, but a lot of fun, am I right?! I’m picturing this as a good centerpiece for your Memorial Day weekend celebrations!
