Well after coming up with yesterday’s DIY Valentine’s, I got to thinking — Why try to reinvent the wheel when we could just let the pro’s, who have already put it so eloquently, say it all for us instead? I mean, we’re all buggin’ (see what I did there?) over here for not having thought of this before now, so I’m happy to introduce you to our DIY pop culture song lyric cupcake toppers for Valentine’s Day.

Whether it’s surprising the office with a few words of relationship wisdom, or just letting Hanson say everything you couldn’t quite muster up to your loved one in one short phrase, like “mmbop, du ba dop, ba du bop”, we’ve got pretty much every occasion covered riiiiight here with a complete set for a baker’s dozen…

Printables:

Materials:

  • Heart printables (listed above)
  • Heavy cardstock (we used 110 lb paper)
  • Scissors
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Washi Tape

First, download and print the PDF sheets attached above, then cut out each heart with scissors. You can easily make these double sided if you’re going to be displaying them in multiple ways, but we just printed enough for one heart on each cupcake.

Now secure the lollipop stick to the back of each paper heart using washi tape, and you’re all set. Simple as that!

Anyone remember the Thong Song lyrics?! Also, please tell me you agree with how creepy Nick Lachey looks in this photo now that we look back at it. At the time I would’ve darn near lost friends over the fight for a wall size print of this, and now no one would even dare leave their kids alone in a room with this thing.   DIY pop culture lyrics cupcake toppers - sugar and cloth DIY pop culture lyrics cupcake toppers - sugar and cloth DIY pop culture lyrics cupcake toppers - sugar and clothDIY pop culture lyrics cupcake toppers - sugar and cloth DIY pop culture lyrics cupcake toppers - sugar and cloth DIY pop culture lyrics cupcake toppers - sugar and clothDIY pop culture lyrics cupcake toppers - sugar and clothDIY pop culture lyrics cupcake toppers - sugar and clothDIY pop culture lyrics cupcake toppers - sugar and cloth

All in all they’re perfectly tacky enough for a cheeky Valentine’s celebration don’t you think? I’m also secretly crossing my fingers I didn’t leave out any major song. I tried to get a few from each category of my middle school and high school years, ha!

If you make some DIY toppers, be sure to share so we can see them to retweet and regram, too! #mysugarandcloth #sugarandcloth
