My Bachelorette & Shower Weekend Getaway

What do sugar cookie hands, phallic stickers, and LOTS of flowers have in common? They were all very integral parts of my bachelorette & shower weekend getaway, of course! I’m so excited to finally be sharing the details from our time in Ben Wheeler, Texas after getting to see the feature on Martha Stewart Weddings a while back. Now, I plan to spill allll of the dirty details (okay, I’ll try to reign it in a bit) from my bach bash!

As usual, I kept things unconventional by inviting Jared to come along for the first night. Most importantly, because I love him… but also, because he is a boss behind the camera, and well, we needed photos. A few of us arrived early to set up for the weekend and he helped us capture a lot of the details before heading out prior to the rest of the girls showing up.

All 8 of us stayed just outside of Dallas at The Wilde House. The whole space was so well curated, not to mention the awesome built in slide to the living room that required me being slightly tipsy before agreeing to go down it. Trust me, it was steep!

With it being such a crazy year of family weddings and travel, we decided to combine the bachelorette weekend with my bridal shower. The girls sent me out for the afternoon on Friday while they worked on transforming the backyard into an evening shower so that most elements were still a surprise.

By the time Jared headed home and the other girls arrived, it was the perfect time for a pop up candlelit dinner to enjoy it all. Everyone made their own naan flatbreads and there were plenty of cocktails to go around! I went ahead and included all the sources for the bridal shower portion of the weekend below at the bottom of the post for easy navigating.

We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing around the house, wine tasting, a yoga class, dancing (watch until the end of the video for proof, ha!), and having one too many cocktails (also see video). I’d like to go ahead and say you’re welcome for this video footage. We captured all of the pretty details, plus a few fun dancing bloopers that I’m so glad I got on tape!

I’m pretty sure all of us made out like bandits with the gift bags… I shared all of the goodies I scored a while back. I’m still nursing my candy on the daily and taking full advantage of my tiny pink flask. Doesn’t hurt to be prepared where ever you go, my friends! Cold brew coffee, included.

  2. THIS IS AMAZING! I seriously can only hope my bachelorette party looks this gorgeous one day. The best parts are your personalized decor… the ‘kiss my ash’ and ‘smiths gone mild’. Fits my personality to a T!

  3. First, congratulations on Martha Stewart’s wedding feature. It is no surprise to me that Martha wanted to share one of your special days starting with the stunning photos( love the overhead shots). Your shower reflects everything about you and your sense of humor from the sweatshirts, drink stirs( kiss my Ash), how freaking clever, to all the colors you adore, and the video with your “getting down” dance moves that made me laugh cause it’s just so “you”. Such wonderful friends that made your day and now mine:)
