Eloping in White Sands – Our Wedding Photos, Videos & Vows
Ohhh the irony of having a one month old baby before I even get around to posting our full wedding recap, haha! Clearly I’m a bit behind this year, my friends! On the bright side, I’ve got a TON of our wedding photos, videos, and vows to share with you from our elopement in White Sands, New Mexico last February!
It’s crazy to think about how much we’ve done and how much has changed in just a year’s time, and all of it makes me want to marry this guy over and over again.
We ended up canceling our original wedding plans and decided to elope with just close family and friends here in the states instead, and watching the videos again just serves as a good reminder that we made the perfect decision. It ended up being the perfect intimate, simple day!
I included a FULL wedding photo gallery by our awesome wedding photographers, The Cotton Collective, and all three videos (our highlight reel, the hilarious behind the scenes, and our full video with vows) from our videographers, Modern-Atelier. And of course, I also included all of the sources from our big day, too.
So grab a cup of coffee because there’s A LOT happening with this post!…
While the videos tell the story much more interestingly than me, I’ll give you a brief summary of the weekend —
Our parents, siblings, and a few close friends (one of which, Jeff, was our officiant!) met us in New Mexico on Friday.
We spent Saturday morning getting ready separately before Jared picked me up from the hotel to do our first look photos. We rented a fun convertible from Turo for the weekend which was SUPER fun driving through the desert!
We stopped at a local frozen custard place before heading to White Sands to meet everyone for the ceremony. My friends Kayla and Brittni did all of the setting up in advance that afternoon of the flowers, decor, and furniture rentals from Birch & Brass that we picked up in Austin on the way.
After LOTS of ridiculous family photos (i.e. – my brother ended up in Jared’s suit jacket plus there was a large banner involved), we exchanged vows on top of the sand dunes then had toasts, light bites, and cocktails afterwards (which apparently are a no-no at the park… along with balloons and lanterns…so shhh!).
We also attempted to set off sky lanterns with wedding wishes on them, but as it turns out the learning curve on those is steep if you end up buying the cheapest ones on Amazon like I did, ha!
I also bought sledding discs for everyone to use to slide down the dunes with but somewhere in the shuffle we lost the wax for making the bottoms of them slick, so don’t make the same mistake we did.
At sunset we left for…wait for it…a very casual dinner at Johnny Carino’s. Yes, you read correctly. Turns out there aren’t many food options just outside of White Sands, so now it’s going to be our running anniversary tradition to find a Johnny Carino’s for our date night, haha.
I am SO in love with the photos and videos that photographers and videographers captured for us, and they made the weekend so special and seamless. You can click the photo below to see the full photo gallery with bloopers, family pictures, and moments from throughout the day!…
It was truly the perfect day and I love that we get to relive the moments through the photos and videos. The behind the scenes video will forever make me laugh!
