Strawberry Basil Galette Recipe

- 1 frozen pie crust thawed
- 1 1/2 cup strawberries sliced
- 2 tbsp fresh basil chopped
- 2 tbsp all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 egg
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with the flour, sugar, and lime juice until evenly coated. Gently fold in the chopped basil.
Lightly spray a large sheet of parchment paper with cooking oil.
Place the pie crust on the parchment and gently roll it out to ensure it lays flat.
Spoon the strawberry basil mixture in a single layer in the center of the crust, leaving about a 1-2-inch border around the edges.
Fold the edges of the crust over the filling, pleating as you go to create a rustic shape. The center should remain exposed.
Beat the egg with an equal amount of water in a small bowl. Brush the egg wash to coat the exposed crust with the egg wash for a golden finish.
Transfer the parchment and galette to a large baking sheet. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
