Strawberry Basil Galette Recipe

A simple and refreshing Strawberry Basil Galette recipe, or as I like to say, fruit pizza! It's so easy to make with store bought dough.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen pie crust thawed
  • 1 1/2 cup strawberries sliced
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil chopped
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with the flour, sugar, and lime juice until evenly coated. Gently fold in the chopped basil.
  • Lightly spray a large sheet of parchment paper with cooking oil.
  • Place the pie crust on the parchment and gently roll it out to ensure it lays flat.
  • Spoon the strawberry basil mixture in a single layer in the center of the crust, leaving about a 1-2-inch border around the edges.
  • Fold the edges of the crust over the filling, pleating as you go to create a rustic shape. The center should remain exposed.
  • Beat the egg with an equal amount of water in a small bowl. Brush the egg wash to coat the exposed crust with the egg wash for a golden finish.
  • Transfer the parchment and galette to a large baking sheet. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
