I’m on a roll, you guys! I either need to get a new hobby or I need to notify all macaron suppliers to stop dealing to me, but until one of those things occurs, I’m happy to present to you a flock of DIY flamingo macarons!

Why? Because you know you can’t resist these pretty little ladies for your upcoming summer pool parties. Plus they’re low enough in calories you don’t even have to feel guilty about them! Sort of…

How To Make a DIY Flamingo Macaroons

First we’re going to start off making the flamingo heads so they’re nice and cool by the time you’re all finished. Lay down wax paper and temper you melting chocolates until melted all the way through. Spoon the melted chocolate into a piping back with the small round tip, and make extra curvy “S” shapes onto the wax paper for the flamingo heads, and let cool.

Next, use the pink and peach gel food coloring in two separate small containers and stir in a splash of almond extra to make your edible paint. Using a dedicated food paint brush, brush small strokes in varying colors onto a strawberry macaron to make flamingo feather shapes.

Once the body is complete, stick the flower stamens in the bottom of the macaron to be the legs, and the chocolate “S” on the side for the head, and adding a beak and eye with the black food marker. Now you’ve successfully spent your entire afternoon making a macaron flamingo you’ll barely be able to eat because of the cuteness! It’s worth it though, trust me!
