Perfectly Simple Pastel Easter Table Setting
Sometimes I have a vision for a table setting or DIY that just does NOT come together like I imagined. I had originally pictured this setting to be photographed outside, but then wind and rain were not our friends.
On top of that the original table I ordered hadn’t come in in time, so I snagged this guy last minute instead. So on and so forth, you get the idea! Hence why we’re just now sharing this table inspiration…ughm … the same week of Easter.
All of this to say that a) the behind the scenes struggle is sometimes very real, and b) you can have a perfectly simple pastel Easter table setting without the headache of adding extra frills. Plus everything is cuter when it’s mini-sized, so we decided to go with a table for the littles this time!
Most people with common sense wouldn’t put a giant gold foiled cake, cupcakes, and cookies on a kids table expect them to actually eat anything but sugar, I clearly don’t fall under this category. I’m in it for the photos people. Plus my kid is only two months old, so I’m playing the newbie parent card on this one.
Not to toot my own horn here or anything (jk, the horn is 0bviously loud), but I think repurposing our pastel pink scallop serving trays as chargers for this table setting was the perfect whimsical touch!
I used combined them with colorful confetti napkins, mint green and gold paper plates and flatware, and topped them with pinstripe dessert cups holding plain eggs for decorating.
For the desserts that most people wouldn’t serve on a kids table, I used our white marble cake stand, condiment tray set for cookies, cupcake stands, and ombre pitcher set for washing all of the sugar down.
While it wasn’t magic hour during a Spring sunset with silent fireworks in the background or anything, I’d say it turned out pretty darn cute, don’t you?!…
