Don’t worry, I know you’re dying to know where this adorable polka dot sofa came from, and it was custom designed from Woodard Furniture! This perfect pairing is the Van Dyke sectional (specifically the right-hand loveseat, wedge center sectional unit, left-hand loveseat and matching ottoman) in a custom combination of white outdoor finish and the white droplet black outdoor fabric.

The Van Dyke series is a perfect blend of retro and modern and it was love at first sight! The original version on the Woodard site is a classic wood finish with white cushions, but Ashley loved the idea of making a custom version in this black droplet fabric with a white finish. Turned out SO. CHIC. Plus you can’t go wrong a with a round beach ball polka dot pillow and triangle pillow to match.

We also love that it’s made out of durable aluminum and can be covered in a number of neutral colors! The ottoman is a great versatile piece too. Kick up your feet when you’re lounging by yourself, or add a tray like we did to turn it into a little coffee table!

Because there’s no such thing as too many polka dots, we had to have the CUTEST outdoor umbrella in the droplet black fabric! Don’t you love the contrasting droplet classic fabric on the inside? Seriously perfect (and 100% necessary) for sitting in the shade while entertaining in Houston. When we did take a break and sit under there, it was ALMOST like it wasn’t 100° outside! Sweet relief.

Of course, a DIY piece that packed some punch was in order, so we made a faux boxwood wall and DIY neon sign! The how-to for that is coming oh-so-soon, so keep an eye out! It was inspired by our love for custom neon signs (have you seen the one in baby G’s room?) and the Houston skyline, the ode to the Bayou City with the phrase “I just wanna be bayou”. A little bit flirty (necessary for a home of 3 women under 30!), a little bit Houston, AND a pun! It was a win all around.

The tea cart was a must-have entertaining piece that’s incredibly versatile for serving food and drinks. So much space! When it’s not in use it’d be so cute for a little herb or succulent garden!

We decided to keep the rest pretty minimal and only added a single end table made from a Hampton table top and Mainstreet end table base. Of course minimal always means it’s okay to add your favorite pink retro luggage (like this set from Steamline!) when there are tropical vibes happening, right?

    • Hi Elan! All of the pieces were from Woodard Furniture. This is an old post so the only thing that still in available is the table stand. (The table top is from Woodard.) We linked the table top and base in the post for reference! Hope this helps!

  1. I love it all!!!

Is the area covered at all? Do you worry about dirt/cleaning the light colors? This would get so grimy where I live but possibly not as big of an issue in Houston.

    • Thanks so much Margaret! Luckily, the cushion covers are all removable, so we can just throw them in the wash if anything happens. It’s always a good idea to invest in a cover, which we’ll probably do, but the outdoor fabric from Woodard is very durable!

We’ll see how they wear in downtown Houston, but since this is on the fourth floor rooftop, there hopefully won’t be as much tree pollen, etc.
