Jager Bomb Recipe
The Jager Bomb recipe, also known as the Red Bull Blaster, is a popular cocktail or bomb shot that’s potent enough to get the party started.
Have it as a mixed drink or take it as a shot, the Jager Bomb is not for the faint of heart. It’s super sweet, super fun and yet super strong.
Ingredients Needed to Make a Jager Bomb
This infamous recipe only calls for two ingredients, Jägermeister and Red Bull. Both on its own are already potent.
Jägermeister is a German digestif liqueur made with herbs and spices with a high alcohol content of 70 proof.
Syrupy and brown, Jägermeister features a distinct and particular flavor that is sweet and herbal with strong licorice and anise notes. It’s also the key ingredient in the Red Headed Slut Shot (which is delicious despite its risqué name).
Red Bull, on the other hand, is super sweet, carbonated and high in caffeine. And when you mix an energy drink with alcohol, it masks the alcohol’s depressant effects.
So you’re now even more wide awake, which is why Red Bull cocktails like the Jager Bomb or Irish Trash Can should be consumed in moderation.
Why is it Called a Bomb? How Do You Drink It?
Bomb drinks consist of dropping the shot glass with liquor (in this case, a shot of Jager) into another glass filled with beer or an energy drink.
It creates a huge splash and fizzy reaction that is a bit messy but quite spectacular. So if you like theatrics, then you’ll also love drinking the Vegas Bomb Shot.
If you don’t care about the fizzy reaction and want to keep things mess-free, the Jager Bomb can be consumed as a cocktail drink.
How to the Make the Jägermeister Bomb
1 — Pour the Jägermeister into a shot glass.
2 — Pour the Red Bull into a pint glass, leaving enough space for the shot of Jägermeister to drop in.
3 — Serve immediately by dropping the Jägermeister shot into the glass of Red Bull and drink it in one go.
Recipe Notes and Tips
The mess-free cocktail recipe version:
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour in half of the Red Bull can and 1 1/2 ounce of Jägermeister. Shake well until chilled. Serve in a tall glass with plenty of ice, and top with more Red Bull.
Chill all ingredients:
As with all cocktails, it’s best to drink the Jäger Bomb cold. Chill the Jägermeister and the Red Bull, at least 30 minutes beforehand in the fridge.
For a stronger drink:
Increase the amount of Jägermeister. Although we do not recommend going using more than 2 1/2 ounces since Red Bull contains so much caffeine content so when mixed with Jägermeister, the result is a super strong drink.
