The classic Green Tea Shot is also referred to as the Jameson Green Tea Shot. Ironically, the cocktail doesn’t actual contain any green tea.

So if it doesn’t have even contain a hint of green tea or even taste like green tea, then why the name?

It’s called a Green Tea Shot because once you mix up all the ingredients (whiskey peach schnapps and a sour mix), it looks like green tea.

What Ingredients Are In a Green Tea Shot?

Jameson Irish Whiskey — Although you can make this shot with whatever whiskey you prefer, this shot is classically made with Jameson whiskey since it was invented by the Jameson Whiskey company.

It’s a whiskey with some sweet and floral notes that go very well with the rest of the ingredients.

Peach schnapps — Deliciously fruity and sweet, perfect to be mixed with the whiskey. Also used in Vegas Bomb Shots, Gummy Bear Shot, Irish Trash Can and Rose Martini.

Sweet and sour mix — It gives a nice sweetness and tanginess to the mix. You can use a store-bought or homemade mix.

Once you learn how to make it at home, there’s no way back to the store-bought ones so read more below as we show you how.

Lemon-lime soda — To top the shot up with a bubbly finish.
