It’s by far one of the strongest cocktails we’ve tried so far.

But it’s sweet, tangy, and fruity with a bubbly finish which makes it easy to drink.

What is a Blue Motorcycle?

The Blue Motorcycle contains 5 spirits (vodka, tequila, rum, gin and Blue Curacao), a sweet and sour mix (lemon juice and simple syrup) and soda.

It can be called a Blue Motorcycle or Adios Motherfucker (AMF) as a way to say “goodbye” (in Spanish) because once you have one, you’ll surely be headed for a blackout.

What Ingredients Do You Need to Prepare a Blue Motorcycle Drink?

White rum

Silver tequila

Vodka

Gin

Blue Curaçao — How the drink gets its signature blue color and also used to make an Irish Tran Can Cocktail

Sweet and sour mix — Although you can use a store-bought sweet and sour mix, we highly encourage making a homemade mix. Freshly squeezed citrus juice is unbeatable when it comes to flavor!

Lemon-lime soda

Slice of lemon and a cocktail cherry — For garnish

Plenty of ice

How to Make a Homemade Sweet and Sour Mix

Mix equal parts freshly squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup.

We recommend making only the needed quantity so that the freshness of the lemon juice remains intact and that the flavors don’t get funky.

If you make extra, then store the mix in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Just keep in mind that you’ll start to lose the freshness and acidity.

You can also substitute lemon for lime juice.

How to Make a Blue Motorcycle Cocktail

1 — In a cocktail shaker, add 2 big ice cubes.

2 — Add in all the liquors and sweet and sour mix. Close tightly and shake well for a minute or until chilled.

3 — Fill 3/4 of the tall glass with crushed ice.

4 — Pour in the mixture.

5 — Top off the glass with lemon-lime soda.

6 — Garnish with a lemon wheel and a maraschino cherry on a cocktail pick.

Notes and Tips

The Blue Motorcycle is best consumed immediately.

However, if you want to prepare a batch in advance, mix everything but the sweet and sour mix, lemon lime soda and ice. You can add these ingredients right before serving.

Keep the liquor base mixture in the fridge in a sealed glass bottle.

1/2 oz tequila

Lemon-lime soda to top up the glass

For the garnish

1 lemon wheel
1 maraschino cherry
