Ways to Make a Wooden Christmas Tree
A lot of people have embraced the not-so-traditional holiday decor and trees are definitely one way of mixing things up!
We repurposed small cone shapes from the craft store to make these cute and little Christmas trees, but there are several ways you can go about making a wooden Christmas tree, big or small.
Here are few materials for an alternative to making this mini tree DIY —
- wooden pallet
- laser cut wooden shapes
- stacked wood rounds
- wooden dowel rods
Basically the sky is the limit on what you can dream up for these!
LITTLE CHRISTMAS TREE IDEAS
Since artificial Christmas trees are on a rise in popularity, this mini Christmas tree concept is a fun way to mix things up!
Plus minimalist lovers everywhere will rejoice on how modern and easy to make these are.
In case you’re wondering how in the world you’re supposed to celebrate with a mini Christmas tree, you can use them as a Christmas centerpiece or table decor, as a numbered advent calendar, or simply as modern mantle decorations.
DIY WOODEN CHRISTMAS TREE
These wooden Christmas trees are essentially just tree shaped wooden cones that you can paint to match your holiday decor theme.
You could easily use scrap wood to make a small forest of these abstract, simple Christmas trees if you wanted to!
First, paint each block the colors of your choice for the base and let them dry to the touch.
Next, use a smaller brush to paint gold leaf caps at the tops of each to represent the star or snowcap, and then let them dry completely.
You can add a few small dots for an added touch, too!
I think you know me well enough by now to know that I can’t let too many things go without a little extra polka dot or gold leaf action. Sorry, not sorry.
I’m pumped to finally be heading home to Houston to actually get to put up my own decor for the holidays, I feel so behind considering everyone else is practically already decked out!
Last year I ended up with Christmas in October because I was too lazy to take the tree down for a month just out it back up again after a photo shoot, oops. What’s the earliest you’ve ever decorated?!
