Behind every great hostess is a trick up their sleeve (at least this is what I tell myself), and these two simple, 5 Minute hors d’oeuvres with potato chips, Kettle Brand to be exact, are definitely a good trick to have on hand during the holidays. Why? Because half of the ingredients you can toss in a bowl since everyone loves kettle chips, and the other half you can dress to impress like these smoked salmon cream cheese and blackberry feta crisps.

Click through for the full recipe for each one, but trust me when I tell you they really only take five minutes, all you have to do is assemble!

Be sure to use kettle chips for these recipes and serve immediately for sturdiness! Kettle chips don’t fall apart or get soggy as quickly as other chips, that way they stay fresh longer just in case guests are slow to make their way to the snack table.

  • 2 oz. capers, roughly chopped
  • ¼ cup finely chopped red onion
  • Squeeze of lemon juice
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • 6 oz. smoked salmon

For the salmon crisps, mix all of the ingredients minus the salmon and chips into a small bowl and stir well. Add in the fresh ground pepper to taste, then place a dollop on each chip and top it with a slice of smoked salmon.

I love this! Also, where is the marble serving board from? It’s gorgeous.

Thanks Ailee! It’s actually from Crate & Barrel : )

      • It’s so pretty. I recently served desserts made with coconut oil on a white marble board from Sur La Table… and still have the circular marks to prove it. Sad, sad day.

I love the idea of incorporating potato chips in meals. Yesterday I made sandwiches with spinach and cheese (veggie option) or sausages (for the meat eaters) and my boyfriend just added some kettle cooked salt and vinegar ships to them. I would have never thought of adding what to me is a movie time snack to other foods. I really, really love this idea and want to give it a try!

      That’s definitely a man’s snack!

Love this idea, Ash. Kettle chips are better than crackers anyway, so I don’t know why I’ve never thought of this before. Yum.

not only is this a really cute idea, but unique falvor wise! They also look really aesthetically beautiful which, although is not integral to taste, is always a plus with food.
