Dairy Free Detox Green Smoothie Recipe
This Detox Green Smoothie is a nutrient-packed breakfast or snack, made with almond milk, spinach, banana, and blueberries.

After a period of indulgence, it’s tempting to hit the reset button with a detox of some sort. We completely understand the feeling, and we’re more than ready to get back to our healthy self again. But here’s the truth: Your body doesn’t need an expensive juice cleanse or gimmicky detox kit to “cleanse” itself! It’s already equipped with an amazing built-in detox system: your liver, kidneys, and digestive tract.
That said, there’s nothing wrong with giving your body a little extra love in the form of nutrient-dense, whole-food recipes. Our Detox Green Smoothie is one of my favorite ways to do just that. It’s packed with fiber-rich spinach, antioxidant-loaded blueberries, and a ripe banana for natural sweetness. To boost the nutrition even further, I, Alex throw in a tablespoon of chia seeds.
And because cinnamon is not only delicious but also rich in antioxidants and known to help support healthy blood sugar levels, it makes its way into the mix too. The result? A creamy, refreshing green smoothie that’s just as good for your body as it is satisfying to sip. Ready in under 5 minutes, it’s the perfect reset drink (along with our detox activated charcoal cocktail) for any day you want to feel nourished, energized, and back on track.

Ingredients Needed
- Unsweetened almond milk
- Baby spinach leaves: Rich in iron and vitamins A & K
- Large ripe frozen banana: Chopped into large chunks. A ripe (but not overly brown) frozen banana adds just the right amount of natural sweetness. So there’s no need for added sugar or sweeteners.
- Frozen blueberries: Loaded with antioxidants
- Almond butter: Healthy fats and protein
- Chia seeds: Great source of omega-3s and fiber. They absorb liquid and help thicken the smoothie while providing fiber and healthy fats.
- Ground cinnamon: Boosts flavor and has anti-inflammatory benefits
- Ice cubes: For a cold, refreshing texture

How to Make a Detox Green Smoothie
1 — Add the almond milk, spinach, banana, blueberries, almond butter, chia seeds, cinnamon, and ice cubes to a high-speed blender.
2 — Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

Recipe Notes and Tips
- For more more protein: Add a scoop of your favorite plant-based protein powder. We used the same in our banana peach smoothie.
- Adjust the consistency: For a thicker smoothie bowl texture, reduce the almond milk slightly. For a thinner, sippable smoothie, add more almond milk or a splash of water.
- Sneak in more greens: Spinach has a very mild flavor and blends easily, but you can also use kale or a greens blend if you prefer. Start with spinach if you’re new to green smoothies.
- Add-ins for variety: A small knob of fresh ginger (great for digestion). A squeeze of lemon or lime juice (adds brightness and boosts detoxifying benefits). A dash of turmeric for anti-inflammatory support.
- Make it ahead: You can prep smoothie packs by portioning the fruit and spinach into freezer bags. In the morning, just add almond milk and blend for an instant grab-and-go breakfast!
