Easy Brandy Alexander Cocktail Recipe
This Brandy Alexander recipe is the perfect treat for any party! It’s silky, sweet, and full of flavor and one of the most decadent and indulgent chocolate cocktails.
This Brandy Alexander recipe is a variation of a classic gin cocktail, the “Alexander”. Contrary to what usually happens, the variation became even more famous than the original!
And although the original is quite delicious as well, we can see why the Brandy Alexander became a hit.
What is a Brandy Alexander?
The Brandy Alexander is an aromatic, creamy, chocolate flavored cocktail that uses brandy or cognac as the main spirit.
You then mix in Crème de cacao liqueur, cream (or half and a half), and a touch of freshly grated nutmeg.
The classic Alexander cocktail, on the other hand, features a gin base, Crème de cacao, and cream. It’s still delicious, but being a different base spirit, it results in a less indulgent and aromatic cocktail.
But one thing is certain, it was created back in the 20th century, and it is still a hit!
Is It Possible to Make This Cocktail Dairy-Free?
Yes, you can make the Brandy Alexander with dairy-free cream options.
But keep in mind that the cocktail will drastically change. Dairy-free cream substitutes tend to have a very different flavor than regular cream.
However, we’ve also got great results with this Brandy Alexander recipe when we used coconut milk. So don’t be afraid to try different options!
