DIY Balloon Friendsgiving Table Centerpiece ( + A Cocktail Recipe Too!)

No one ever said you couldn’t have your cocktail, DIY balloon Friendsgiving table centerpiece, turkey, and pumpkin pie too. In fact, we’re now fully equipped with all of the above. The only thing missing are stretchy pants and a locked-and-loaded Netflix queue, so you can thank us later.

I’m sure you’ve all send a good balloon garland about 1000 different times now, so all we did here was put our own spin on it to make it perfectly fit for your next upcoming Friendsgiving feast or next Friendsday gathering with IZZE. It’s super simple to make, and so is the Blackberry Blitz cocktail we whipped up to go along with it…

Balloons in the colors of your choice (we used peach, sun yellow, coral, and ivory)

String

Scissors

Flowers

Mini pumpkins

Confetti runner (optional, but we loved the extra touch!)

The basis of a horizontal balloon garland is super simple. Cut a piece of balloon string the length of your desired garland, and then blow up balloons and tie them onto the string pushing them to super close together so that they cluster. Easy peasy!

Tips for creating your own:

-Stagger the larger and smaller balloons for an even cluster, but make sure you can still see over the top for easy dinner conversations!

-Spread out the colors for an even visual flow

-Pull in colors to complement the rest of your tablescape, drawing inspiration from your place setting or

even your drink!

To tie in the Thanksgiving theme, we chose fall inspired colors, plus I mixed in fresh dusty miller and berry stems to give it a more organic look. Then I placed mini white and orange pumpkins around the edges, and one on each place setting.

And to incorporate the balloons colors, we used foiled gold leaf napkins, blush pink plates, and gold flatware to accompany each setting, and allow the bright color of the Blackberry Blitz cocktail to really pop.

I also added in gold taper candle holders on each end of the table for added ambiance.

For cocktails (let’s face it, the star of most holiday gatherings!), I thought the IZZE Sparkling Blackberry and rosemary sprig combination was perfectly fitting for the season, plus I’m always down for a good bourbon cocktail…

Blackberry Blitz Cocktail

  • Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1/2 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 2 dashes bitters
  • 2 ounces IZZE Sparkling Blackberry
  • rosemary sprig for garnishing

Instructions

  • Combine first three ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice, and shake. Pour into a collins glass filled with ice, and top with IZZE Sparkling Blackberry.
  • Rather than serve over ice, we poured the mixture into coupes and topped with IZZE Sparkling Blackberry.
  • Smack a sprig of rosemary between palms to release aromatics, and add as garnish.

Now for the serious question: do you all actually host a Friendsgiving?! I’ll be honest, I’ve never done it before. Mostly because holidays usually entail last minute deadlines and traveling home, but I really want to host one this year!

As always, super thankful for our friends at IZZE for sponsoring our entertaining ideas!

You’ll never miss require a companion in the presence of the pet.
Taking this step first is very important for many reasons:Time could
be short. This gives you the flexibility to select any schedule, which you
could possibly be able to accommodate.
