How to Make Grateful Dead Drink Recipe

The Grateful Dead is potent cocktail (of 6 liquors) but it’s deliciously tasty and features fun color changing tie-dye effect.

You might be wondering why the name, right?

This Grateful Dead drink recipe is a shocking drink, made with a concoction of lots of liquors, but with a very fruity, sweet, and well-balanced taste.

There’s not much info out there on the history of this cocktail. However, we can see where the name comes from.

It’s a refreshing strong cocktail that reminds us a bit of the Long Island Iced Tea or the Blue Motorcycle. But it has a cool color changing tie-dye like the Butterfly Pea Flower Tea Cocktail.

So in a way, it can knock you out with its great power, but in a very delicious and stylish way; hence you’ll for sure be “grateful dead” (pun intended).

Another theory might be regarding the tie-dye effect, making a fun reference to the psychedelic 60s band Grateful Dead and the proverbial tie-dye clothing the band and their fans used to rock.

Either way, being a 60s-inspired cocktail or not, we assure you it’s a potent delicacy to drink with caution and very chilled.

With this fun name and looks, we thought it would be the perfect signature drink for your next Halloween party. I mean, look at how deadly gorgeous it looks!
